Lodging, Food, and Supplies
Lodging
Commercial Lodging: Vogel State Park and Blairsville have lodging. The cottages at Vogel are not inexpensive, but if you share one, then the cost is not too bad. For the hardy souls, winter camping is available at Vogel.
Bunking with Fierce Dragon: There will be napping bunks for roughly 20% of the Base runner field - available at Vogel on a first-come-first-napping basis. An assigned bunk can be purchased at an additional cost above the Base option fee.
Base + Bunk Option. The Base + Bunk entry fee option provides an assigned bunk in a heated tent with space for a reasonable amount of gear. The large tents will hold 5-6 cots per tent. A hot morning meal is also included.
Deluxe Option. The deluxe option will give you a dedicated tent (10'x10') with 2 cots and a propane heater. A hot morning meal is also included.
Food
Eateries: Blairsville GA is not a large city, but most of the fast food chains are available. A quick Google map snapshot to the right shows many different food options.
Food stores. Dollar General is about 3 miles away from the Vogel State Park. Ingles and Foodland are in Blairsville. A Walmart Supercenter is about 2 miles west of Blairsville on Hwy 515.
Supplies
Hardware and Gear: Home Depot, Lumber 86, and Ace have stores in Blairsville GA. Walmart has outdoor gear, in addition to food, at its Supercenter. In Dahlonega (22 miles south), Dahlonega Mountain Sports carries shoes and trail running gear (https://www.facebook.com/DahlonegaMountainSports/).
Fuel. The nearest gas station is about 3 miles away from the Vogel State Park next to the Dollar General. Propane is available from various sources. Wood for fires from the retail stores is expensive ($7 for a small bundle), so it is worthwhile exploring larger bulk purchases of wood if you know you will be stoking the home fires at Vogel for long periods of time.
